Welcome to Politics Irish
Ireland's newest online politics forum
This forum has been created by a Politics.ie forum user and I hope to see other Politics.ie members coming on board to use this forum.
Just found out about this today. In the interests of openness, may I inquire as to who you were on p.ie.

It would appear not. Why is that. Maybe there is some motive. Colm on IPO refuses to say who he is and of late there is a rumor that he could be a well known figure on P.ie.
Political Irish likewise have never said, but they started as 5 individuals, quickly becoming 2 I believe.

This is bad as I may not agree with you, but it is a bit sad, that I am the only one to reply to you. And I suspect you will not see it, as why would you stick around.

Obviously both of us came here to give a bit of a lift up. I always do and later I might depart

Thanks Dan. So there you have it Admin. You've two new members asking the same thing. Speaking only for myself I grew weary at the ever-worsening bias and clannishness of p.ie mods and was relieved when it died. I'm looking for a new home but without the baggage of p.ie hence I'd like to "know" who you were on p.ie so I can make a call on whether I will stick around.

Hi Tom welcome along good to have you on board.
My username is not been given because it ties me to who I am personally as explained previously .I had a very small post count anyway , and am not anybody connected to anybody on politics.ie

A busy day Dan so only getting to a computer now ,I cant be around a computer all the time some days as i work out of office also, but I will always reply to posts, unless I dont see them and am always here via e mail also,so dont worry.

Yes I understand Tom,but outside of giving my name publicly im kind of caught here,I would hope you give it a go or check back in again after a while,Im not trying to push this forum , I would rather it takes its own shape as much as possible, and whether that takes weeks or months so be it ,I know a promise on the internet is probably not worth anything,But I genuinely do not have any agenda here or am in anyway connected to anyone from politics.ie past or present in any shape or form.I would just rather not have my name public as I dont want my work life to be spammed bye messers etc. but have nothing to hide in anyway.

I dont want to make this an issue as it really is a non issue who I am, which is nobody of note. But I do understand both of your concern with things of past Dan & Tom.

Perhaps if you nominate someone to verify I am a individual would help, but again im entitled to my privacy so it would have to be verified and assurances of my privacy intact ?
But again ill just point out its not note worthy, but if it is something that would help then maybe I would look at that.

I hope above helps Guys and its a fair reply and Thanks for the feedback.

Anyway, a forum can not take off on it's own, why would anyone post, when there is no activity.

To start a forum you need a few friends so that when a guest comes along they will see activity, no different to a restaurant, club or bar. Here you got two strangers looking for a few beers and when we walk in, we can't find the barkeep

I will message you now Dan Thanks

It would be very foolish to provide your personal details to any Irish discussion forum. It will come back to bite you, and sooner than you think.

What business is it of yours who he is?

You're on a fringe online forum (as all Irish political forums are). Don't take yourself so seriously.

It takes a good while for forums to generate traffic. PI was dead for a year after it started. I think you're being a bit harsh.

You make an excellent point Reptilia. PI started with a strong flourish. It had the fantastic advantage of owners that stated quite frankly that every opinion could be aired as long as it was legal. That was music to a lot of people who were censored on P.ie. However the downside was that some posters dominated and the site then was seen as too right wing and scary. The site grew very slow for almost a year. It then sprang to life, which really began about the time when Lisdoonvarna hit the news. The referendum then ensured a busy period. It dipped after the referendum as many posters were disheartened with the result. It is at the moment at it's busiest ever.
It has gone off line now for a day. I do not know the reason.
Perhaps @jmcc knows, he usually does

Thanks for your reply, Dan. It's good to hear that PI is doing well these days. There seems to be a number of political forums sprouting up recently.

Hopefully the approach this site takes to selecting Mods will not resemble the ham fisted attempt adopted by IPO. I won't post there while certain people - clearly not up to the job - are free to hound posters they disagree with. For the short time I was over there poor old Tonic from p.ie was being hassled by a particularly overzealous Mod.

Anyway, best of luck to all involved here. Fair play to the Admin for setting up in anyways.

It is a dumb site that chases Tonic away. They really put the cart before the horse. Grabbinf a mod team and setting too strict of rules, before they built a user base.
Then Mowl came along, solely to test them imo, and sure enough he routed them and the completely unfairly and cowardlike, banned him.
Here I guess is adopting a smarter course.

Aye, bad vibe over there. Hopefully Tonic will join us here.

Well if anyone can communicate with him, he should be invited and ready should the site take off, which could very well happen in the future

Hi Reptilia
Welcome along and Thanks for the kind words.
You're welcome.

I've been on all the forums at one time or another. I'm currently waiting for my 6 month boards ban to expire in April. I'll contribute here regularly in anyways.
